Data brokers are legally required to delete you on request in a growing number of places. Here's what the law gives you — and how to push back when they stall.

How a data broker gets your information

You never signed up with them. They assemble a profile from public records (court filings, property deeds, voter rolls, business licenses), data-breach dumps, loyalty-card and app trackers, and each other — brokers buy and resell from one another constantly. That's why you re-appear months after opting out: a fresh public record or a sister-broker's feed re-populates the listing.

When a broker ignores you

  1. Note the deadline. Each law gives the broker a fixed number of days to respond (shown on each card above). Mark the request "sent" on the Status tab so you have the date.
  2. Send one follow-up citing the statute and the missed deadline. Keep it short and factual.
  3. Escalate to the regulator. Ignoring a verified request is itself a violation. File with your state Attorney General or privacy agency (California's CPPA, for instance) — the penalties on each card are real leverage.

Our promise — what we do and don't see

  • Free tier: your name, address, phone, listing URLs — live only in your browser's localStorage. The server sees your details only for the instant it fills in your letters, then discards them — nothing is stored.
  • Pro tier (coming soon): server-side state is required for daily monitoring. PII is encrypted at rest and only the auto-submit worker can decrypt it. Cancel anytime — full deletion happens within 7 days.
  • Never: ad networks, analytics SDKs, fingerprinting, retargeting, your-data-for-sale, “authorized partners.” You can disconnect from the internet right now and the only record of you on this site is one row in a Stripe customer database (Pro tier only) until your subscription ends.
