Terms of Service
Acceptable Use — read this first
Romp is for authorized security testing only. Scan only systems you own or have explicit written permission to test. Unauthorized scanning is a crime under:
- 18 U.S.C. § 1030 (USA — Computer Fraud and Abuse Act)
- Computer Misuse Act 1990 (UK)
- EU Directive 2013/40/EU
- Equivalent laws in most jurisdictions worldwide
J&G Studios does not endorse any unlawful use of Romp. A customer in prison is a customer lost.
The agreement
By using Romp, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Romp.
What you're getting
- Free tier — limited scans per hour, browser-only, no installation.
- Subscription — recurring billing for unlimited hosted scans + all 9 Otter modules.
- Download — one-time purchase for a self-hosted install + 1 year of updates. Includes a signed ed25519 license token tied to your account.
- Download Renewal — annual renewal of updates + support for the Download tier.
What you must do
- Scan only authorized targets. Your account and your install are responsible for everything they scan.
- Keep your credentials safe. Don't share passwords or license tokens. If compromised, reset immediately.
- Don't abuse the service. Don't try to circumvent rate limits, scan our infrastructure adversarially, or reverse-engineer the service for competitive purposes.
- Comply with all applicable laws. Cyber-laws differ by jurisdiction. We provide tools; you're responsible for how you use them.
What we'll do
- Run the service in good faith with reasonable security and uptime efforts.
- Tell you 30 days in advance of material changes to these terms.
- Refund any unused portion of a subscription if we terminate without cause.
- Respect your privacy (see Privacy Policy).
What we won't do
- Guarantee that Romp will find every vulnerability. No scanner can. Romp is one tool among several you should use.
- Provide legal advice. If you're unsure whether a scan is authorized, get a lawyer.
- Indemnify you for unauthorized use. If you scan something you shouldn't have, that's on you.
Billing & refunds
- Subscriptions renew monthly. Cancel any time via the billing portal — your tier stays active through the end of the paid period.
- One-time Download purchases are refundable within 14 days if the software doesn't work as described. After 14 days, all sales final.
- Refunds are issued back to the original payment method via Stripe.
- Chargeback > refund: filing a chargeback without contacting us first will result in account termination. Email privacy@domainless.fun first — we'll work it out.
License termination
- If you violate these terms (especially unauthorized scanning), we may suspend or terminate your account.
- Download-tier licenses are revoked on refund or terms-violation; the offline license token will fail to validate.
- You can terminate your account any time by emailing privacy@domainless.fun.
Disclaimer
Romp is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, J&G Studios disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, J&G Studios' total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Romp is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Colorado.
